Egg Freezing Class
A life-changing ladies’ night
What is an Egg Freezing Party?
Just the words “egg freezing” seem to inspire a fair amount of anxiety, which really isn’t necessary. That’s why Dr. Aimee has come up with this fun, casual way to demystify the process, answering your questions in real-time, giving you a sense of how easy, safe, and empowering it can be. In fact, we’ll have so much fun, we’ll even cover part two: Egg Thawing. At her in-person parties, she serves up yummy food and drinks, so feel free to BYON (bring your own noms) to this online meet-up.
And what is egg freezing, exactly?
It’s a safe, affordable way to preserve your eggs when you’re at your most fertile (for most women this is before age 35) but still don’t feel ready to become pregnant or are unsure if you’ll ever be. Egg freezing gives you more time, more flexibility and a greater chance for a healthy pregnancy.
Egg freezing begins by injecting hormone shots that stimulate the growth of your eggs (similar to what happens during IVF). Then a doctor extracts the eggs through a simple surgical procedure, and preserves them in liquid nitrogen.
Egg thawing, of course, reverses the process but the eggs are fertilized before they are implanted in the patient’s uterus. (Also, similar to IVF.) There are other things to consider along the way that Dr. Aimee will walk you through, but that’s the general gist.
What will I get out of this party?
Information and inspiration! Dr. Aimee believes it’s vitally important for women (and men), particularly in their 20s and 30s, to understand that they can take a proactive role in their own fertility journey, which includes fertility screening (check out our TUSHY Method class), understanding the basic process of freezing your eggs (or sperm), and how to decide if egg freezing is right for you.
After the party, you’ll have clear steps to take in understanding, assessing and supporting your fertility health. Not your mom’s, your friend’s, or that real housewife’s. Dr. Aimee will be talking about specific scientifically validated information about you.
Sidebar rant: For some odd reason, fertility awareness is a taboo topic is our society — most women don’t know that they can get their fertility levels checked and track their changing fertility over time, similar to how we track health risks with pap smears. So here’s your chance to lift that veil and take action.
The best part is that each Egg Freezing Party is live Dr. Aimee interacts with you and other party-goers in real time. It’s the next best thing to a one-on-one consult with one of the world’s foremost fertility experts. Plus she tells jokes. Better ones than your dad, we promise.
